About this Quest
SchoolCompass is a student-first discovery aid for Primary 5 and 6 explorers. Choose a class, equip CCA interests, set a home postal code, and see a shortlist of secondary schools that fit what you want to do — and how long it takes to get there.
Mission
Help students explore schools through interests and travel, not prestige rankings. This is not a “which school is better” league table.
How ranking works
- Interest match first — schools that offer more of your equipped CCAs rise.
- Travel soft-ranks next — nearer or faster routes rise among equal interest matches.
- Home postal never removes a school; it only sorts travel time.
Travel labels on the results: Hike means walk, Hitch a Ride means public transport, Drive means car.
What we do not use
- PSLE cut-off points or past score bands
- “Better school” prestige or league tables
- Direct School Admission (DSA) mapping
Always verify programmes, CCA offerings, and admissions with the school or official guidance.
Data credits
School names, addresses, CCA and programme offerings come from Ministry of Education (MOE) open datasets for secondary schools.
Home-base geocoding and walk, public transport, and drive times use OneMap services from the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).
